We are incredibly proud of the amount of space that’s available to your child to explore and play in. Our four quality outdoor play areas in our Eatons Hill childcare centre are spacious and covered in beautiful lawns. With plenty of shade provided by the stunning trees surrounding the play area, you can feel the utmost peace of mind that all children who enter the space will have every opportunity to play, learn and explore.
Under the watchful supervision of our experienced educators, children are encouraged to dig into the sandpits and adventure over the climbing frame. If your child is younger, not a worry, there is a separate play area for your little one to adventure into confidently.

The early years are critical to a child’s future and we want every Queensland family to know kindy is free from 1 January 2024. Kindy is for 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year, at a government-approved educational program and it is FREE. It is for children who are aged at least 4 years of age by 30 June in the year before they start Prep. See here for more information.

An accredited kindergarten program
We are proud to be a childcare centre that delivers an an accredited kindergarten course located in a studio that is separate to the rest of centre with its own building and playground. Here, your little one will be given the space to learn, develop and grow whilst we teach them alongside the relevant education guidelines. These programs are specifically created for four to five year olds and will allow them to work independently and also with the friends they will make. They have the opportunity to explore the different learning styles, grow their thinking processes and see them well-equipped with all the skills that they will need to be able to confidently and successfully go through prep.
Our playground encourages social skills and exploration
We know just how important it is to not only ensure your child is learning new things, but also that they are interacting and engaging with other children through play. Our playgrounds have been created with that in mind, to ensure that all of our children can play with their friends in a welcoming and encouraging environment. Stay & Play Dates is just another way that we are consistently delivering value to you and your children. That’s why we offer Stay & Play dates, where you and your family can visit our centre to meet the wonderful team who will be taking care of your little one and allow a chance to play with the other children there.
We want to make sure that you, your family and your child are as comfortable as possible before enrolling at our centre. It’s part of our commitment to caring and looking after all the children who walk through the doors.

Kindergarten Program Our Approved Kindergarten program focuses on supporting children ages 3-5 years to develop 21st Century Skills. These skills include but are not limited to problem solving, kindness, compassion, decision making and collaboration. Our highly qualified Kindergarten Team of 7 includes 3 Early Childhood Teachers, 2 Lead Educators and 2 Assistant Educators across the week. Our Kindergarten Studio includes key languages such as clay, transient art, mark making and construction. This allows for the children to develop skills that create autonomous leaners who feel a sense of belonging and wellbeing through play as a vehicle to learning.

Boutique Nursery Here at Mother Duck Eatons Hill, we provide an 8 place Infant Studio with two Educators. The Infant Studio has a separate sleep/rest environment, an outdoor atrium and an outdoor play space. Our small Studio provides our infants with safe and secure relationships with their primary caregivers. There will always be one Educator from Infants between the hours of 7am and 5:30pm to provide continuity of care.

Indoor/Outdoor Environments We offer free flowing indoor/outdoor environments at all times throughout the day for all children. Our practices allow children to stimulate their own learning abilities and social interactions. The children are involved in decision making, implementation of ideas and inquiries and cooperative learning. As a result, the children’s increased confidence to share ideas, verbalise knowledge and contribute in both individual and group experiences enhance the children’s social and emotional wellbeing. It creates opportunities for children develop new areas of expertise, develop new relationships and a chance to investigate new and unfamiliar experiences.

Longevity of Educators We are proud of the longevity of our Educators. We have an array of Early Childhood Educators that have been with Mother Duck for between 5 to 30 years. With this we are able to form strong bonds with families over different generations. Educators have returned to work after maternity leave bringing their own children along to be part of our Mother Duck Family, this is a reflection of the quality of staff, supportive working environment and sense of community Mother Duck Eatons Hill pride themselves on.

Miss Mel
Centre FranchiseeMiss Mel began her Childcare career in 2000 and joined the Mother Duck Team in 2016. Miss Mel ensures to provide a home away from home for children, families and educators. Miss Mel holds her Advanced Diploma in Children’s Services and is a strong advocate for the rights of children.
Miss Amberley
Centre FranchiseeMiss Amberley began her career in Education as a school teacher in 2009 and joined the Mother Duck team for a career in Early Childhood education in 2017. Miss Amberley joined the Eatons Hill team as a Kindergarten teacher before stepping into the role of the Educational Leader/Pedagogical Coordinator for the previous 3 years then moved into the Franchisee role.
Miss Amberley holds her Graduate Diploma in Psychology and her Bachelor’s in Education, she enjoys mentoring educators, has a passion for child development and provides opportunities for children to reach their full potential as lifelong learners.
Miss Sarah
Nominated SupervisorMiss Sarah was introduced to the Mother Duck community as a parent in 2011. Miss Sarah later completed her placement for her Bachelor of Education in the Kindergarten studio and then joined the Eatons Hill team as the Kindergarten teacher in 2019 before stepping into the Nominated Supervisor role last year.
Miss Sarah is passionate about supporting families and building collaborative partnerships to ensure that children and families feel welcome and secure while at Mother Duck Eatons Hill.
Miss Lisa
Pedagogical CoordinatorMiss Lisa has been a part of the Mother Duck community since 2018. She holds her Diploma in Early Childhood and has been a passionate leader in the Senior Studio before stepping into the Pedagogical Coordinator role this year. Miss Lisa is a strong advocate for children’s learning and setting up engaging environments for children to explore and develop their skills socially, emotionally and physically.
Miss Lisa will continue to convey to others her passion for early childhood education, where we all can be actively involved in ongoing reflection and planning for quality such as approach to professional learning in areas of self-assessment, vision and philosophy.
Miss Sonia
Assistant DirectorMiss Sonia has been a valued team member at Mother Duck Eatons Hill since 2017. Miss Sonia has experience working with children of all ages. She is passionate about intentional learning that will support children’s growth in all areas and strives to provide endless opportunities for children to develop lifelong learning. Miss Sonia works both with families and children to ensure a collaborative approach.
