We believe in giving the children entrusted into our care the best space possible to learn and grow. Our Carindale childcare centre has two outdoor spaces, which are spacious and grassy, with lots of shade from beautiful trees overhead. Your child is invited to play in the sandpits and go on adventures over the climbing frames, encouraging them to run, climb and play.
Younger children are also given the space to explore freely as we are passionate about seeing your child grow and thrive under our child care services.

The early years are critical to a child’s future and we want every Queensland family to know kindy is free from 1 January 2024. Kindy is for 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year, at a government-approved educational program and it is FREE. It is for children who are aged at least 4 years of age by 30 June in the year before they start Prep. See here for more information.

Our Stay & Play Strategy
We offer Stay & Play Dates at our Carindale childcare centre. Walking through the doors of a brand new environment can be a daunting task for any child, and we understand that. That’s why our Stay & Play dates have been integrated into our centre. It’s a chance for you and your family to see the centre, meet the team who will be taking care of your child and interact with the other children. We want to make sure that both you and your child are as comfortable as possible at our centre.

Qualified In-house Chef We employ a qualified Chef who works full time in the Kitchen, preparing fresh meals every day for all of our children.

Community Engagement Carindale nurtures a very close connection with the Lorocco nursing home situated directly behind the centre. Each week the Nurses bring a few of the residents up to our centre where they engage in beautiful interactions with our Children and Educators. The benefit of these visits for both the elderly residents and the children is so very important, apart from the obvious joy and companionship that occurs the children have the opportunity to develop empathy and respect for our elderly citizens and the elderly gain a renewed enjoyment of life, have something to look forward to and can even have improved physical capabilities. In the wider community we also aim to support and care for one another, a few ways we accomplish this is by supporting our local businesses and organisations like GIVIT, Pyjama Foundation, Little wishes, Love your sister foundation and many more . We also personally assist our families’ businesses aiding in the promoting of them where we can.

Flexible Meal & Rest Times We promote flexible mealtimes and rest times. This is because we believe that our children deserve the opportunity to learn when their bodies tell them they are hungry and tired and have the opportunity to eat or rest as this occurs with our guidance.

Dedicated Educators Mother Duck Carindale prides itself on the dedication and longevity of the Educators within our service. Miss Louise has been at the centre since we opened the doors in 1998, enjoying 5 years at the Mother Duck centre in Cannon Hill prior to that. Miss Louise has always done everything within her power to support and look after her Educators with the belief that with dedicated happy educators the care, love and education that our children and families will then receive will be of the utmost quality. As a result Mother Duck Carindale have an amazing reputation for the retention of quality Educators, in fact we have 10 Educators who have been with us for 5 plus years, 7 approaching 10 years of service and even one amazing educator having enjoyed a fulfilling career with Mother Duck Carindale for 18 years and still going strong.

Miss Louise
Nominated Supervisor & Centre FranchiseeMiss Louise has been the Franchisee at Carindale since its grand opening in 1998. Miss Louise strives to ensure children receive the best care and education every minute of every day. The same culture is fostered among her team of wonderful educators, many of whom have worked alongside Miss Louise for more than ten years. Miss Louise is dedicated to working in partnership with families, creating a sense of community for all who attend.
Miss Jess
Early Childhood Teacher & Nominated SupervisorMiss Jess began working as an Early Childhood Teacher at Mother Duck Carindale in 2013, after completing a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood).
Her week is divided between her Nominated Supervisor duties and teaching in the Kindergarten studio. While she loves working with children, she also values the opportunities she’s had at Mother Duck to develop skills in leadership, management and partnerships.
